The pineapple has been a symbol of hospitality since the days of the early American colonies. Sea captains who sailed among the Caribbean Islands and returned to the colonies with their cargo of fruits, spices and rum would spear a pineapple on a fence post outside his home to let his friends know of his safe return home. As well as to signal an invitation for them to visit, share his food and drink, and listen to tales of his voyage.
The pineapple became a symbol of the presence of hospitality and friendship. And the motif can still be seen today in architecture and signs and now stationery! I've created notecards in both gold and blind debossed finishes as well as a mini.. Check out them out!
