The Pantone colour of the year for 2015 has been announced: Pantone 18-1438 'Marsala' It's described as a robust and earthy wine red. So far it's getting mixed reviews. I can see it working well in the fashion, beauty and decor industries, however I've yet to feel inspired to mix up a batch of ink to make any prints with it. Compared to colours in the past, it doesn't seem to be as versatile. To me, it is more of a fall/winter hue and I'm not sure how well it will transition into spring/summer. Overall the colour pairings that pantone has created on their website also show an overall palette that is warm and rich... I'd like to think I saw this coming, check out my colour inspiration post I added only a few weeks ago.
